HEALTH AND FIRST AIDNESTLE, RED CROSS SUPPORT GHS FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ghana Red Cross Society has solicited support from various quarters to assist  to support the fight against the spread of the virus.  Part of this support is in the form of donating of  PPEs, Medical equipment that will  directly  aid medical facilities in the management of COVID-19 cases.  

As an auxiliary to government, the Ghana Red Cross Society has continued to  complement the government’s efforts in the areas of social interventions ( eg distribution of food packs to selected households), social mobilization, risk communication, media sensitization, community engagement and community announcement;  these exercise we have performed during this COVID – 19 era  across all the 16 Regions in Ghana.

Today, the Ghana Red Cross Society and Nestlé Ghana have partnered once again to provide support to the Ghana Health Service as frontline organization  working to control Covid-19 in Ghana, 1 Anesthetic Machine, 1Slit Lamp, 10 Infrared thermometers, 10 Digital BP testing apparatuses, 1 set of mobile ECG 6 channel, 1 set of mobile ECG 12 channel, 10 disposable gowns and a patience monitor  totaling GHS323, 697.

According to Deborah Kwablah, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager at Nestlé Ghana, ensuring the health and wellbeing of individuals and families should not only be a concern of Government. Private sector has an important role to play to help improve health and wellbeing of the people. Nestlé has a mandate and will continue to play significant roles in different endeavors backed by our purpose of “unlocking the power of food to enhance of quality of life for everyone today, and for generations to come.” She thanked Red Cross Ghana for their commitment to the partnership to touch lives.

Our expectation is that these items will go a long way to helping this hospital perform its functions very well to the benefit of providing some level of protection in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
