Ghana Red Society known for their humanitarian interventions went to the aid of 400 households who benefited from the Cash Voucher Assistance program for the affected Appiatse Disaster Explosion.
In addition to the cash transfer also were 220 hygiene and 220 dignity kits which included sanitary wear among others which were distributed to the affected families.
The national Disaster Manager, Mr. Hope Jonathan during the distribution of the Kits promised additional 180 hygiene kits and 320 dignity kits.
During his talks with the victims, he emphasized the Cash Voucher Assistance Program which is to take care of the needs and hospital bills of the injured and displaced victims as a means of support from the Ghana Red Cross Society.
The DM in the person of Mr. Hope Jonathan did a very good job consulting the community and also engaged the appropriate stakeholders to get to the total number mentioned above.
The qualified beneficiaries were the injured persons, breastfeeding mothers, and displaced individuals or families.
As part of the society’s social responsibilities sheltered the displaced victims, first aid, family tracing, hygiene promotion, health messages, and also a feedback box for their suggestions, questions, and pressing needs.
Mr. Frank Asante, the Western Regional Manager promised to continue to support them through the society and other stakeholders till life returns to normal.
