The Supreme Master Ching Hai International has donated an amount of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand United States Dollars (US$150,000) to the Ghana Red Cross Society as its contribution to the fight against the novel, Coronavirus in Ghana.
The Ghana Red Cross Society, one of the largest humanitarian organisation in the country is a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) which was established by an Act of Parliament as an auxiliary to the government to provide relief to the suffering of most vulnerable in times of emergency.
Receiving the Cheque of US$150,000 from the Supreme Master Ching Hai International through its Local Branch here in Ghana at a ceremony at the headquarters of the Ghana Red Cross in Accra, the President of the Society, Lawyer Gyimah-Akwafo thanked the Supreme Master for her kind gesture and her humanitarian works across the globe.
He, therefore, assured the Country local representative of the Supreme Master International of making good use of this amount as Ghana Red Cross Society is committed and determined to complement government efforts to reverse the spread of COVID-19 pandemic and its socioeconomic impact on the society.
“This amount of money would be put to the exact use it was meant for”, he assured the donors.
On their part, the Supreme Master Ching Hai International believes that this amount would go a long way to help the course and mandate of the Ghana Red Cross Society across the country.
And assured the Society of the Supreme Master Ching Hai Prayers and Mercy from Heaven as they collectively work together to fight the novel, Coronavirus.
In a related development, an organisation that seeks to transform lives through innovation, Project Maji also donated some Handwashing Stands to aid the Red Cross Society fight against COVID-19.
These Handwashing stands would enable one to be able to wash his or her hands without touching the tap of the Veronica bucket, hence easy washing of hands via stepping on a feet panel that opens the tap for the flow of water.
